Dancing or No Dancing?
As restrictions begin to lift, there is so much to look forward to. Whether that’s seeing friends and family again, eating out in your favourite restaurant, or just getting your hair cut! For us, we are so excited for the return of Weddings and Events in Dumfries & Galloway. We can’t wait for a summer of busy dance floors!
Whilst there is so much good news, we realise we aren’t quite there yet. The exact details of what Weddings will look like over the next few months are still being ironed out, however, busy dance floors are likely to be nearer the bottom of the list.
So far, what we do know is that Weddings can take place in Scotland from the 26th April 2021 with a maximum of 50 people Alcohol is now permitted at Weddings from the 26th April 2021. Once Scotland moves to Level 1, maximum numbers will increase to 100 and then will increase again to 200 once we move to Level 0.
For full and up to date details on the restrictions, remember to check the Scottish Government Website.
Dancing or no dancing, it doesn’t change the important role that music plays during your special day. There are so many ways that we can bring music to your Wedding in Dumfries & Galloway that involve no dancing whatsoever, but will help to make your day fun, unique and memorable. Let’s have a look at just a few of them…
Wedding Ceremony Setup
Lots of couples are choosing to have their Ceremony outdoors this summer and it brings so many advantages. The fresh air, the sunshine (fingers-crossed), the awesome backdrop for photos, and of course, the social distancing benefits. One disadvantage of an outdoor Ceremony is that it makes it so much more difficult for your guests to hear your vows – this is where we can help.
Saying your vows will be one of the most special and emotional moments of your life. Your closest friends and family deserve to hear this moment and so we can provide various subtle microphone options. We don’t want to make you feel like you are on the X Factor, so we only use carefully placed discrete microphones for yourselves, your Minister/Celebrant and any readers or singers.
Music is an important part of the Ceremony too. We can provide music throughout your Ceremony, including as guests arrive, as the Bride walks down the aisle, during the signing of the register and after the Ceremony during drinks and photos.
We can of course also provide Ceremony microphones and music indoors as well.
Wedding Breakfast Setup
Even if dancing is not allowed, we really hope that background music will be. There’s nothing worse than awkward silences during a meal, so we believe that background music is an essential part of every Wedding. We can design the perfect dinner playlist for your special day and mix the tracks together to create that fun atmosphere you are looking for.
With social distancing, it may be difficult for everyone to hear the speeches. That’s why we include a wireless microphone in a Wedding Breakfast Setup so that you’ve always got if you need it.
Lighting
You might have a slightly smaller guest list, but that doesn’t mean your venue should look any less spectacular! Lighting is a fantastic way to decorate your venue and we can help with both uplighting and gobo projection.
Uplighting, or mood lighting, is a great addition to your Wedding décor as it allows you to completely transform your venue. We will match the uplighting to your colour scheme and carefully position the lights to give the best effect – sometimes just a few uplighters highlighting a feature in your venue has a greater effect than lighting the whole room.
Custom Gobo Projection is a great way to add that personal touch to your Wedding. We’ll create a personalised image which can then be projected onto the wall or floor. Whether it’s your name, initials or date, it’s going to look great in lights!
Piping
Piping has always been a bit of a social distanced activity, so it’s a great way to add some music and atmosphere to your Wedding Ceremony. When you would like the pipes played is entirely up to you, but we would usually play outside as guests arrive, pipe the Bride down the aisle, pipe you both out of the Ceremony, and then play a few tunes during drinks and photos.
If you are going ahead with your Wedding over the next few months and need any help with sound, lighting or video, just get in touch and we’ll do whatever we can to help!
